So I am in a blog funk. Haven’t even been thinking about it this last week. Plus I am just plain tired. Ever get in the funk?
I need your help.
What do you do to get out of any funk your in?
How do you get out of a blog funk?
Read More and CommentThis morning Andy talked about how we believe that Small Groups are the way we fill the gap between the truth we hear at church, scripture, etc, and the Lives we live. In other words, it is the place where we can find a common denominator with other people and put truths into life. We finished up our last group a little early because of Nate being born. But we have really been feeling the excitement about leading a group. I took a break from leading a group because I lead all the time and wanted to just be apart. However, I really feel like leading in a small group setting is something God has given me the ability to do well.
All that being said, we are thrilled about starting up a new group either later in the fall or Jan.
My 2 questions to you are,
1. Are you doing life with some in community?
2. Do you have anyone to fill the gap between truth and life?
Read More and CommentMany of you know that we have been trying to figure out what to do with our dog Beasley. I have put many posts up of pictures and stories of our beloved Boston Terrier. After a year or so of praying and trying to figure out how to give away a Boston with skin allergies, God answered our prayers by connecting us to a lady named Mary. She has already rescued a Boston who had horrible skin allergies and was really sick.
So tonight, I dropped Beasley off with Mary and it was really, really hard to do. We know it is the best thing, but it doesn’t make it any easier. We will miss you Beasley.
Read More and CommentSince moving to this new site, I have gained some new readers and lost some old readers (I know it is hard to move your reader to follow
).
Anyway-Just curious who is out there reading these days. So how about a little roll call?

Read More and CommentSorry folks, but I have been quite under the weather with a serious sinus infection this week. It pretty much knocked me out this week. Anyway-I was able to see a couple of movies while laying on the couch.
Carrie and I have been wanting to see this since it came out, but we haven’t seen a ton of movies this year. We loved it! I thought it was incredibly well written and the actors were a perfect fit for the story. Juno’s personality was hilarious, but had a real genuine struggle of finding out who she is. I would definitely recommend this movie if you haven’t seen it.
I also saw the Dark Knight this week. Oh yea. It was nice
I am easily the most efficient, productive, time managing person I know (okay I can actually hear some of you laughing through the world wide web portal intranet
)
ANYWAY, I have been influenced by our incredibly talented and organized production director with this new site that helps organize and create to do lists.
Remember the Milk is a site that you can make different lists (work, home, etc) and then add priority, notes, due dates etc. You can also share certain lists of your choosing with co-workers or family so that you can add to the lists and everyone sees it that subscribes. I just started using this with my assistant and we now have a lists that I can keep updated for her with due dates and details.
Check it out and let me know what you think. Does anyone need any help with projects?
Read More and CommentWe were watching So You Think You Can Dance tonight and my wife posed a question I wasn’t ready for…What if Nate wants to be a dancer?
Don’t get me wrong, I am all about the arts and encouraging growth in many areas, but when he decides he doesn’t want to be Tiger Woods or the next Pro Wrestler then I guess I will answer the question.
Anyone know how to answer this one?
Read More and CommentOur leadership team just read the short little book called The Dip by Seth Godin.
It was a really good little book with some great insights on when to quit things and when to push through the Dip.
I recommend it for sure to run all of you ministries and businesses through.
Here are the Main Takeaways I am thinking about.
1. Where do we settle for less than the best?
2. The dip is why I am okay at many things, but not a superstar.
3. Are we willing to wait through the dip and keep pushing?
4. What areas are we moving forward, staying still or going backward?
Do you need to think through some of these things?
