Moldova…Tomorrow!!!! · 4 Comments · May 21, 2008 · Old Posts ·

Ryan and I leave tomorrow afternoon for the Republic of Moldova.

We are spending 24 hours in Vienna, Austria before arriving in Moldova.  We have a church partnership there and we are going to experience their services and help them in anyway possible.  I am really excited about seeing how they are creating relevant environments in a post-communist country.  Moldova ranked dead last in a forbes.com poll for happiest countries in the world.  3.5 out of 10.  Read more here.

We will be blogging as much as possible, so keep checking back for pics and thoughts.

Pray for Andre and his staff and that Ryan and I can truly offer some experience.

I just wanted to make a quick post and tell you guys that we have a new guy on our leadership team at BBCC.  His name is Casey Ross and he was our strategic partnership in Greenville.  I know that we are all really excited about his family being apart of what we are doing in North Atlanta.  Pray for him that they sell their house…again (read his last post about it).

Go welcome him!

Heck yes!!!!! If you don’t know by now I am an absolute roller skating junkie. I love it. Always have had the need for speed…skates. Anyway, found this little gem on you tube today and thought you might enjoy it.

WARNING-There might be a couple of “funny/inappropriate” comments, but nothing you don’t see in the movies :) . I really just like the roller skating and these guys are pretty funny.

Here is the latest little nugget from David Bach about your driving habits and saving money (which we could all use these days).

Maintenance Matters-

-Keep your tires properly inflated

Having your tires inflated to the right pressure can increase your mpg by up to 3 percent, saving you up to 10 per gallon of fuel.

-Don’t haul around unnecessary weight

What are you storing in your trunk? Unnecessary cargo weighs down your car and reduces your mpg.

-Get a tune up

Installing a clear air filter protects your engine and can increase your fuel economy by up to 10%, which translates to as much as 32 cents per gallon.

-Don’t drive like a maniac

Aggressive acceleration and braking can reduce your highway mileage by a third (wow!). Driving over 60 mph can cost you 20 cents per gallon of gas for every 5 mph increase.

Interesting stuff huh?

Which one of these do you think you can do to save some money?

As many of you know, I was blessed to get to produce the main sessions this year and then do some breakout stuff, plus head up the Jeff Foxworthy and Road trip part for BBCC. Here is a highlight from the conference.

Did you attend?

I made it down to Buckhead Church today to attend their staff meeting and here this guy Joey Reiman. He’s only one of the most well known dudes in Atlanta business world. He wrote a book called Thinking for a Living, which he gave one to each of us this morning. Anyway, he gets paid (sometimes millions) to teach businesses how to think. Pretty cool. I am not even going to try and pair down all the notes I took (which might be more in 1 hour than I took in 4 years of college). So here are all of them.

2 things first:

1. You must read through all of them. Don’t stop. They are all good.

2. You must leave a comment to tell me your favorite couple of thoughts.

Enjoy…
